From Route 128-North:
Take exit 25A and follow Route 114-East into Salem.
1: Start out going SOUTHEAST on ANDOVER ST / MA-114 E toward MA-114 W. 0.6 miles
2: Turn LEFT onto PULASKI ST / MA-114. 0.1 miles
3: Turn RIGHT onto GARDNER ST / MA-114. 0.4 miles
4: Turn RIGHT onto MARGIN ST / MA-114. Continue to follow MA-114. 1.6 miles
5: Turn LEFT onto NORMAN ST / MA-114. Continue to follow MA-114. 0.2 miles
6: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto DERBY ST / MA-1A. Continue to follow DERBY ST.
7. The Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites will be on the right hand side of Derby Street.

Please note: I-95 North and Route 128-North share the same road for the loop around Boston. When the roads divide, stay on Route 128-North. At this point, the exit numbers jump from #45 to #28.

From Boston, (25 minute drive):
Merge onto US-1 N toward TOBIN BRIDGE / REVERE.
Take MA-128 N via EXIT 45 toward GLOUCESTER.
Take exit 25A and follow Route 114-East into Salem.
1: Start out going SOUTHEAST on ANDOVER ST / MA-114 E toward MA-114 W. 0.6 miles
2: Turn LEFT onto PULASKI ST / MA-114. 0.1 miles
3: Turn RIGHT onto GARDNER ST / MA-114. 0.4 miles
4: Turn RIGHT onto MARGIN ST / MA-114. Continue to follow MA-114. 1.6 miles

From Logan Airport (25 minute drive):
1: Follow signs to I-93N (note: Logan Airport is under construction frequently so pay close attention to road signs. Drive slow, it can be difficult to navigate in and out of Logan Airport!)
2: Merge onto I-93 N. 10.5 miles
3: Merge onto I-95 N/MA-128 N
4: Keep LEFT to take MA-128 N via EXIT 45 toward GLOUCESTER. 2.4 miles
5: Take EXIT 25A toward LOWELL ST./WEST PEABODY. 0.1 miles
6: Merge onto ANDOVER ST/MA-114 E toward SALEM/MARBLEHEAD. 0.6 miles
7: Turn LEFT onto PULASKI ST/MA-114. 0.1 miles
8: Turn RIGHT onto GARDNER ST/MA-114. 0.4 miles

From the North:
Take I-95 South ( Maine) or I-93 South ( New Hampshire) to Route 128-North.
Take exit 25A and follow Route 114-East into Salem.

Train & Bus:
Train service is available on the Newburyport/Rockport Commuter Rail Line from Boston's North Station. At the Salem Depot, exit up the stairs. Walk down Washington Street and then left onto New Derby Street. At the Salem Fire Station, New Derby becomes Derby Street. Walk 1.5 blocks and you'll see Pickering Wharf's shops. It is a ten-minute walk from the Salem Depot. Bus service is available on bus #450 or #455 from Boston's Haymarket Square. For train and bus information, contact the MBTA for more information at (800) 392-6100 or www.mbta.com. It takes approximately 30 minutes to travel between Salem and Boston by train, and one hour by bus.

Directions to The Hotel and Pickering Wharf by Water:
 1. From the Red 16 marker in Salem Sound, take a course heading of 217 degrees True or 233 degrees magnetic putting you inline with Red 2 Day Marker in the center of Salem Harbor.

2. After passing Red 2 Day Marker to starboard, come West and head 273 degrees True, 289 degrees magnetic toward the Red 4 flashing bout.

3. Passing the Red 4 flasher to starboard, you will be able to identify a small white lighthouse with the black top visible at the end of Derby Wharf. Keeping the lighthouse off to the starboard and the Green 5 Marker to port, head straight down the channel towards the S/V "Friendship" and just off your port bow you will see the entrance to Pickering Wharf Marina.

Directions to the Hotel and Pickering Wharf by Car:

From Points North & South:

  • Take Interstate 95 to exit 45 (Route 128 North – Gloucester).
  • Take Exit 26, Lowell Street East (Peabody and Salem).
  • Proceed 2.6 miles through Peabody Center past Bridge Street (Route 107 North)
  • Turn left onto Essex Street and travel through two sets of lights to Washington Street.
  • Turn right on Washington Street.
  • Turn left at lights onto New Derby Street (Route 1A North).
  • Continue to follow New Derby Street.
  • The Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites will be on the right on the corner of Congress and Derby streets. 

 

From Logan Airport:

  • Take Interstate 90 East/Massachusetts Turnpike towards Boston/Sumner Tunnel/Revere/Route 1A
  • Take slight right onto Route 1 A North/William F. McClellan Highway and continue to follow Route 1 A.
  • Continue on 1 A to the first traffic circle and take the second exit towards Route 60 West/American Legion Highway.
  • Continue to follow Route 60 W and at the traffic circle take the first exit onto Route 107 North/Broadway.
  • Continue to follow Route 107 for eight miles.
  • Continue on Essex Street once you have arrived in downtown Salem.
  • Turn right at the end of Essex Street onto Washington Street
  • Turn left at lights onto New Derby Street (Route 1A North).
  • Continue to follow New Derby Street.
  • The Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites will be on the right on the corner of Congress and Derby streets. 

 

Directions to the Hotel and Pickering Wharf by Train & Bus:
